Composition
My compositional practice bridges traditional forms and advanced technologies, exploring themes of cultural identity and transnationalism. My works integrate generative AI, spatial audio, and multimedia, as demonstrated in projects like Coconut (2024), which blends field recordings from the UAE and Turkey with Smithsonian materials, and foam (2024), combining deep-learning audio synthesis and 270-degree projection

Fixed Media
1 / foam (2024)
Ambisonic fixed media and 270-degree projection. Uses generative audio and video created from hundreds of iterations of prompt engineering with Adobe Firefly, Udio, Generative Fill in Adobe Photoshop and generative upscaling in Adobe Lightroom.
2 / Understanding (2024)
44-channel fixed media and 270-degree projection (2024) Understanding was created using an integrated network of Ableton Live, TouchDesigner, and Python scripting. The piece is based on a library of 50 words related to displacement, curated by visual artist Veronica Ibarguengoitia Tena. These words were organized into a custom dictionary read randomly by CHOP Exec nodes in TouchDesigner. Their placement within the 9600x1080px projection space was determined algorithmically, with density modulated by a modified square root curve. The audio consists of over 600 edited clips of recordings of non-native English speakers reading the words of the dictionary. These clips are triggered algorithmically through Python scripts, allowing for granular control of timing and density. A future iteration of Understanding is planned as an immersive installation with 360-degree projection. In this version, ambient speech will be captured using hanging microphones and processed through a speech-to-text model. Keywords from the transcriptions will be modulated and projected, while a separate model will analyze the text’s valence. This data will control RGB values of the projected text, dynamically blending visuals and audio to reflect the evolving emotional context of the environment.
